HBO will schedule its new series “Rome” to air seven days a week on its channels, including each episode’s premiere Sunday nights at 9 p.m. beginning Aug. 28, the network said Wednesday. The previous week’s episode will rerun at 8 p.m. Sundays.

HBO has a free preview of its service scheduled for Sept. 3-7, during which viewers will be able to see the first two episodes of “Rome.” The third episode, which debuts Sept. 11, will be available on HBO On Demand beginning Sept. 5, marking the first time an episode was available on-demand before its premiere on the linear channel.

The total reach achieved for sampling should provide “Rome” with a strong opportunity to gather a regular audience in the weeks between the end of the summer cable season and the start of the fall broadcast season, the network said.
