NATPE Boot Camp Adds Speakers

The National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE) has boosted its lineup for its third annual TV Producers’ Boot Camp, which will take place in Los Angeles July 28 and 29. The boot camp gives participants a chance to pitch series ideas to a variety of industry executives.

Executives scheduled to attend one-on-one pitch sessions July 29 include John J. MacDonald, general manager, Fine Living TV Network; Frank Chindamo, CEO/president, Fun Little Movies; Mary Ellen DiPrisco, VP, original programming, SOAPnet; Marian Effinger, VP, reality programming, Lifetime Television; Scott Jackson, director of development, Vin Di Bona Productions; and Rose Caraet, director, creative affairs, de Passe Entertainment.

On July 28, executives will discuss topics as varied as pitch structure and development, branding strategies, distribution trends and opportunities in emerging technologies such as mobile content and interactive TV. Confirmed speakers include Randy Barbato, partner, World of Wonder Productions, Dr. Elliott Haimoff and Elise Pearlstein for the session “Defining Roles in Documentary Production”; Jak Severson, CEO, Madison Road Entertainment, for the “Deals and Dollars II: Branding in Entertainment” discussion; and Pat Quinn, Innovative Artists Talent and Literary Agency, and Zig Gauthier, VP, original programming, GSN, for “A Winning Pitch: How to Hit Your Mark.”

Held at West Hollywood’s Wyndham Bel Age hotel, the TV Producers’ Boot Camp costs $410 for NATPE members and $680 for all others. Discounts are available with early registration.
