Promax Finalists Announced

Promax&BDA has announced the finalists for the 2005 Promax Awards, which honor achievements in marketing, promotion and broadcast design for electronic media. More than 200 categories recognize the best TV, radio, Web and film promos created, produced, broadcast or published between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2004.

The nominees encompass a wide range of programming, from Best Comedy Program Promotion (“Joey” video postcards, NBC; “Desperate Housewives: Bed, Bods, Beyond,” ABC) to Best Reality Program Promotion (“The Bachelorette: It Had to Be You,” ABC; “Colonial House” series sell, PBS).

The finalists for Best Branding/Image are an eclectic group: Fallon: “Bedtime,” PBS; Super Bowl/Daytona 500 Flags, Fox Sports; “Guy Interrupted,” New Frontier Media; and “Stories No. 4,” WGBH-TV, Boston.

Other top categories include Best Entertainment Program Promotion (“American Idol” new season tease, Storm Media Studios; “Dave Stunts,” CBS); Best Drama Program Promotion (“Lost-Stranded,” ABC; Fox-“The Jury,” FBC); and Best Children’s Program Production (“Postcards From Buster” tease, PBS; “%A1;Mucha Lucha! Gigante”-Too Big for the TV,” The WB).

The awards will be handed out June 23 at the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel.
