The WB Picks Up ‘Beauty’ for 2005-06

The WB is picking up a second installment of its new reality dating series “Beauty and the Geek,” ordering eight episodes for the 2005-06 season. The announcement was made Tuesday by David Janollari, the network’s president, entertainment.

“Beauty,” which premiered June 1, pairs seven attractive young women with seven very smart but decidedly geeky men. Each pair works to make the partners more well rounded, with one couple ultimately winning a $25,000 prize. The show has been a ratings performer in the adults 18 to 34 demographic and on June 15 “Beauty” was No. 2 in the 8 p.m. (ET) time period in adults 18 to 49.

“Beauty” is from fox21 and produced by Katalyst Films and 3 Ball Productions. Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg, Nick Santora, J.D. Roth, Todd Nelson and John Foy are executive producers.
