London-based CNN international correspondent Matthew Chance will become senior international correspondent, based in Moscow, in August.

Mr. Chance, a freelancer who joined CNN in 2001 to report on Afghanistan, has been particularly high-profile of late, reporting on the G8 summit in Scotland last week until he was brought back to London to report on the terrorist bombings. His new assignment plugs a hole left in Moscow by the reassignment of Jill Dougherty as managing editor for CNN in Asia Pacific.
