Comedy Central has purchased two pilots from Sony Pictures Television, including a new documentary project from Morgan Spurlock (“Super Size Me,” “30 Days”).

The first, “Gay Robot,” is a live-action scripted comedy produced by Happy Madison, Adam Sandler’s production company. The pilot is based on a character from one of Mr. Sandler’s comedy albums. The second, “Public Nuisance,” features Mr. Spurlock tackling various issues affecting American society. Mr. Spurlock will serve as executive producer under his new production banner, Warrior Poets, and will also star.

“We’re pleased to be working with Sony Pictures Television, a studio that understands our brand, shares our comedic sensibility and, like us, feels that the gay robot population has been shamefully underrepresented on television,” said Lauren Corrao, executive VP of original programming and development for the network.
