Showtime Senior VP of Programming Pancho Mansfield is moving to Spike TV as head of original programming, sources said.

Mr. Mansfield joined Showtime in 1993, and today is his last day at the premium network. Mr. Mansfield joins Spike TV on July 11 as executive VP of original series, a new position. He will report to network President Doug Herzog. Spike TV declined to comment.

Mr. Mansfield will lead Spike TV’s burgeoning West Coast programming team, which includes Sharon Levy, who last week was announced as senior VP of alternative programming, and former USA executive Bill McGoldrick, who was hired last month as VP of original scripted series.

Spike TV just finished its highest-rated quarter ever, averaging 1.6 million total viewers, up 30 percent over the same period last year.
