Tuesday night’s debut of MTV’s “The 70s House” brought home 5.9 million viewers for the network.

The show, in which 12 people live in a 1970s-era house and compete for prizes, outdelivered the broadcast networks in key demographics and won its 10:30 p.m. time period. Among persons 12 to 34 it was seen by more than 4 million viewers.

Still, “70s House” was down slightly from its 10 p.m. lead-in, “The Real World.”
