TBS will join sister network TNT in airing the live telecast of the Sag Awards, the networks announced Wednesday. TNT has aired the awards solo since 1998.

“Since the SAG Awards honor both dramatic and comedic performances, TNT, television’s first network for drama, and TBS, television’s ‘very funny’ network, are ideal companions to present this exciting annual event,” said Steve Koonin, executive VP and chief operating officer for both networks.

The “12th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards” honors performances in five film categories and eight television categories. The ceremony airs Jan. 29, 2006.
