WB Media Research: Movies Are Tops

Warner Bros. Media Research has released a study showing theatrical on basic cable accounts for 15 of the top 25 programs among adults 18 to 49.

The study argues movies are the most popular programming genre on advertiser-supported cable. Airings of “The Bourne Identity,” “The Mummy Returns” and “Spider-Man” were among the top performers.

“During a season in which basic cable networks aired more original programming than ever, theatricals continue to enhance ratings, promote brand awareness and increase ad revenue,” said Eric Frankel, president, Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution.
