‘Will & Grace’ Plans Live Season Premiere

NBC’s hit comedy “Will & Grace” will begin its eighth and final season with a live season premiere Thursday, Sept. 29, the network announced Friday.

The show’s 2005-06 season debut marks “Will & Grace’s” first live episode. Two versions will be shot, one live for the East Coast and one live for the West Coast, with different jokes to be used in each broadcast.

The first show will shoot at 5:30 p.m. (PT) on the West Coast to air live on the East Coast at 8:30 p.m. (ET). Another show will be shot at 8:30 p.m. (PT) for the live West Coast airing.

The premiere will be directed by veteran “Will & Grace” director James Burrows. The episode will feature guest appearances by Eric Stoltz and Alec Baldwin.
