Fox News Channel weekday anchor David Asman has been named head of the network’s documentary unit and host of a series of investigative specials. He will continue hosting “Forbes on Fox,” part of the network’s weekend business lineup.

Bill Shine, senior VP of programming for Fox News, announced the promotion Tuesday and described Mr. Asman, who was The Wall Street Journal’s editorial features editor before he joined Fox in 1983, as “a dedicated and talented anchor whose journalistic skills will be a tremendous asset to the documentary unit.”

Mr. Asman said: “Even though I love breaking news, what I love most is going in-depth on stories that have either been missed or underreported, and now I have the unique opportunity to do that.”
