HBO’s new historical drama “Rome” was seen by 3.8 million total viewers Sunday night (2.1 million in the 18 to 49 demo), according to Nielsen Media Research.

Though not record-setting for a series premiere, the episode drew more viewers than any program on the channel since last year’s fourth season premiere of “Six Feet Under.”

Last Sunday’s episode of “Entourage,” by contrast, was seen by 2.1 million viewers, and “The Comeback” was seen by 900,000.
