WB100+ Buys ‘The Shield’

Sony Pictures Television has sold the gritty FX drama series “The Shield” in syndication to The WB 100+ Station Group for a weekend run starting in fall 2006. The announcement was made Tuesday by John Weiser, president of distribution for Sony, and Lynn Stepanian, senior VP of programming and distribution for The WB 100+.

“The Shield” has already been sold for an off-cable run on Spike TV, where it will air Monday through Friday, and to the Tribune Station Group, which will air the show on all of its 26 stations. The show will begin airing on Spike TV and the Tribune stations in fall 2006.

“The Shield” is produced by Fox Television Studios in association with Sony Pictures Television.
