CBS’s two-hour premiere of its new sci-fi series “Threshold” on Friday was the top-rated show for the night in total viewers and the adults 18 to 49 demographic, outpacing The WB’s new Friday night schedule.

“Threshold” scored a 2.9 rating in adults 18 to 49, according to Nielsen Media Research, 32 percent higher than last season’s time period premiere of “JAG” and “Dr. Vegas,” which scored a 2.2. The show garnered 8.6 million viewers, surpassing the night’s second-place finisher, NBC’s “Dateline,” which garnered 8.55 million.

The WB’s new 8:30 p.m. (ET) comedy “Twins” scored a 1.5 in the demo, building on its “What I Like About You” lead-in by 7 percent (1.4). At 9 p.m. “Reba” scored a 1.7 in the demo, down 19 percent from its 2004 season premiere. “Living With Fran” scored a 1.3 at 9:30 p.m., down 19 percent from last year’s dedicated reruns of “Blue Collar TV.”
