CMT has announced plans for a Hurricane Katrina benefit concert to be held Oct. 1 at 8 p.m. (ET). The show will feature some of country music’s biggest stars, including George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, Willie Nelson and Martina McBride.

CMT is using its “One Country” campaign, which the network started earlier this year to promote volunteerism and nonprofit organizations, to promote the event.

The concert will be broadcast live from Reliant Stadium in Houston.
