TV Land will go dark from 6-7 p.m. Sept. 26 as part of its effort to encourage families to dine together on Family Day, the network said Monday.

“Pre-empting TV Land’s normal programming schedule is a symbolic gesture on our part to remind families of the importance of eating dinner together and sharing more than just meals at the table,” Larry Jones, president of TV Land and Nick at Nite, said in a statement.
