CBS Wins Week in Viewers, Adults 18 to 49

CBS won the week ended Oct. 23 in both the adults 18 to 49 demographic and in total viewers, but ABC scored three of the top five shows in both categories.

In the 18 to 49 demo, ABC’s Sunday night drama “Desperate Housewives” scored an 11.0, according to Nielsen Media Research. CBS’s Thursday procedural “CSI” scored a 9.7, followed by ABC’s “Lost” (9.3), “Housewives” lead-out “Grey’s Anatomy” (8.3) and NBC’s veteran Thursday drama “ER” (6.6).

In total viewers “CSI” was the top show with 28.5 million, followed by “Housewives” (25.2 million), “Lost” (21.4 million), “CSI” lead-out “Without a Trace” (19.8 million) and “Anatomy” (18 million).

For the fifth week of the 2005-06 season CBS was tops in adults 18 to 49 with a 4.1, followed by ABC (3.9), Fox (3.5), NBC (3.3), The WB (1.6) and UPN (1.5).

In total viewers CBS garnered 13.1 million, followed by Fox (10.6 million), ABC (10.5 million), NBC (9.3 million), The WB (3.7 million) and UPN (3.5 million).
