Fisher Communications has named Colleen Brown as president and CEO, the company announced Tuesday. Ms. Brown is a former senior VP at Belo who is currently president of Aberdeen Media, a company she formed to try to acquire TV stations. She succeeds Ben Tucker, who has been serving as Fisher’s acting president and CEO since January.

In its official press release, Fisher said Mr. Tucker is leaving the company to “pursue other interests.” At least some industry sources were advancing him as a possible candidate to succeed Eddie Fritts as president and CEO of the National Association of Broadcasters, if the NAB search committee’s favorite for the post — David Rehr, president and CEO of the National Beer Wholesalers Association — doesn’t pan out.

Mr. Tucker is currently chairman of the NAB’s TV board, a post from which he will also have to resign unless he quickly lands another industry job.
