The National Association of Television Program Executives’ Educational Foundation announced Monday that its ninth Student Career Workshop will take place Nov. 5 in Phoenix. Lew Klein, president of the foundation, made the announcement.
The workshops are held in mid-size and major markets with diverse student populations. Students from schools in the surrounding areas are invited to join area professionals free of charge for a day of networking and career advice that includes breakfast and lunch.
The workshop will take place at the offices of Belo-owned independent KTVK-TV and WB affiliate KASW-TV. Panelists include Lea-Ann Clement, Mark Demopoulos, Marie McGlynn, Mike Lopez and Brad Perry of the stations; Rick Feldman, president and CEO of NATPE; and Greg Giczi, general manager of KAET-TV, Phoenix. Mr. Klein will moderate.
Previous workshops attracting 100 to 200 students have been held in New York, Miami, Los Angeles, New Orleans, San Francisco, Washington, St. Louis and Austin, Texas.
