NBC won Tuesday in the adults 18 to 49 demo with help from the top-rated show of the night, the 10 p.m. procedural “Law & Order: SVU.”
“SVU” scored a 5.6 in the demo, according to Nielsen Media Research. That was down 10 percent from its rating in the demo the previous week. The second-highest performer in the demo was also on NBC, 9 p.m. comedy “My Name Is Earl,” which scored a 5.5, a 9 percent drop from its performance the previous week.
Coming in third for the night was ABC’s new 9 p.m. political drama “Commander in Chief” with a 4.7, down slightly from the previous week’s 4.8. CBS rounded out the top five programs for the night with 9 p.m. reality series “Amazing Race” (4.3) and 8 p.m. military procedural “NCIS” (4.1).
Fox’s telecast of Game 1 of the American League Championship Series scored a 3.6 in the demo, putting Fox in fourth place for the night among the networks after NBC (4.6), CBS (3.9) and ABC (3.7).
