Cartoon Network has announced the start of production on a new animated series, “Squirrel Boy.”

The network plans 13 half-hour episodes of the series, about a 10-year-old boy and his best friend, a know-it-all squirrel. The series is being produced at Cartoon Network Studios by Everett Peck, and is scheduled to debut next summer.
