CBS Wins Christmas Week in Demo, Total Viewers

CBS won the week ended Dec. 25 in both total viewers and the adults 18 to 49 demographic with help from the No. 1 show in both ratings categories — “CSI: Miami” — but NBC got some traction with its special weeklong game show “Deal or No Deal.”

“Miami” scored a 6.4 rating in the demo and garnered 20.3 million total viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. CBS’s Monday comedy “Two and a Half Men” was second with a 5.6, followed closely by a repeat of the flagship “CSI” with a 5.5. NBC took fourth place in the demo with the Dec. 21 episode of “Deal,” with a 4.9. Rookie CBS Monday night comedy “Out of Practice” was fifth with a 4.8.

In total viewers, “CSI” was second with 18.9 million, followed by “Men” (17.7 million), “Practice” (15.0 million), and Thursday’s “Without a Trace” on CBS (14.4 million). The Wednesday edition of “Deal” came in sixth with 14.1 million.

In adults 18 to 49, CBS was tops for the week with a 2.8, followed by Fox (2.7), NBC (2.6), ABC (2.5), UPN (1.1) and The WB (0.8). CBS was No.1 in total viewers with 9.9 million, followed by NBC (7.7 million), ABC (7.2 million), Fox (6.7 million), UPN (2.9 million), and The WB (2.0 million).
