ABC’s new hybrid comedy “Sons & Daughters” will air back-to-back episodes beginning Tuesday, March 7, at 9 p.m. (ET). The hour block of “Sons” replaces the first-season presidential drama “Commander in Chief,” which is going on hiatus until the spring, when it will return with original episodes, the network said in a press release Friday.

“Sons” is an improvisational scripted comedy that profiles the life of a twice-married father and his extended, multigenerational family.

Lorne Michaels, JoAnn Alfano are executive producers along with creators Nick Holly and Fred Goss, who is also starring in “Sons.” NBC Universal Television Studio and Mr. Michaels’ Broadway Video Television are producing.
