In a widely expected move, Marc Graboff has been named president of NBC Universal Television for the West Coast. The announcement was made Thursday by Jeffrey Zucker, who was promoted to CEO of NBC Universal Television Group in December.
Mr. Graboff will oversee the day-to-day operations and administration of NBC Entertainment and NBC Universal TV Studio. Kevin Reilly, president of NBC Entertainment, and Angela Bromstad, president of NBC Universal TV Studios, will continue to report directly to Mr. Zucker on all creative and programming matters but will report to Mr. Graboff on all business, operational and administrative issues.
Formerly the executive VP of NBC Universal Television Group, Mr. Graboff will now oversee all business affairs and physical production for NBC Entertainment, NBC Universal TV Studios, the NBC Universal cable properties and NBC Universal Television Distribution.
Others reporting directly to Mr. Graboff include: Jerry DiCanio, executive VP of production operations for NBC Universal Television Studio and NBC Universal Television Distribution; Beth Roberts, executive VP of business affairs for the NBC Universal entertainment and cable entertainment divisions; Rick Olshansky, executive VP of business affairs for NBC Universal Television Studio; Rob Fitzpatrick, executive VP of business and legal affairs for NBC Universal Television Distribution, and Andrea Melville, executive VP of business and legal affairs for NBC Universal Television Distribution.
“In light of my expanded responsibilities, I am formalizing what Marc has been doing for the last 18 months with regard to the day-to-day oversight of the West Coast TV operations,” Mr. Zucker said in a release. “In no way does this change how Kevin and Angela have been operating, and only puts a more formal ribbon around the way the business has been running.”
Mr. Graboff was appointed executive VP of NBC West Coast in November 2000, where he oversaw business affairs activities related to all of NBC’s Burbank-based divisions, including NBC Entertainment, NBC Studios and NBC Enterprises. He joined NBC after serving as senior VP of CBS Entertainment. While at CBS, he was responsible for overseeing business affairs for both the CBS Television Network and CBS Productions.
Before joining CBS Mr. Graboff was a partner at the Los Angeles law firm of Troop Meisinger Steuber & Pasich.
