The Rev. Donald Wildmon, founder and chairman of the American Family Association, is asking his followers to protest the April 13 episode of NBC’s “Will and Grace,” which he claims mocks the crucifixion of Christ.

In an e-mail to association members Wednesday, Rev. Wildmon said the offensive material includes an appearance by guest star Britney Spears, who is hosting a cooking segment called “Cruci-fixin’s” on the show’s fictional gay-themed network.

“NBC does not treat Jews, Muslims or other religions with such disrespect. Yet the network demonstrates a deep of hostility toward followers of Christ,” Rev. Wildmon said.

The Tupelo, Miss.-based activist association is asking its members to urge their local affiliates to pre-empt the episode, and to write to NBC Universal Chairman Bob Wright. NBC was working on a response late Wednesday.
