Digital video recorder manufacturer TiVo said Tuesday that it struck an agreement with Verizon Wireless to enable TiVo subscribers to schedule recordings remotely using Verizon cellphones.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. TiVo said it plans to introduce the service this summer.

The feature will be available to customers whose phones are equipped with Verizon Wireless’s Get It Now suite of premium services. Customers will use the service via software they download to their cellphones.
