News Corp.’s Fox Interactive Media has appointed executives of two recently acquired companies to top positions, the company said Thursday.

IGN Entertainment CEO Mark Jung has been named chief operating officer of FIM, while Scout.com founder and CEO Jim Heckman has been appointed chief strategy officer. Both men will report to Ross Levinsohn, FIM’s president.

IGN and Scout.com were acquired last year, and in both cases the new executives will relinquish their previous roles. IGN is an online destination for young male gaming enthusiasts, while Scout is an online sports network.

Mr. Jung will focus on FIM’s growing Web site business, including sales, technology and product and content development, with particular attention to identifying ways to monetize the tens of millions of visits to various FIM Web sites.

Mr. Heckman, whose expertise is in building online networks, will focus on strategic planning, growth opportunities and corporate development.
