Fox Wins Week in Adults 18 to 49, CBS Takes Total Viewers

Fox won the week ended March 26 in the adults 18 to 49 demographic, while CBS took the No.1 spot in total viewers.

“American Idol” was once again the highest-rated show in both demos, with the Tuesday edition of the musical reality show scoring a 13.6 in adults 18 to 49 and garnering 33.4 million total viewers, numbers that include live-plus-same-day viewing, according to Nielsen Media Research.

Wednesday’s “Idol” was No. 2 in both demos, scoring an 11.4 in adults 18 to 49 and 27.7 million total viewers, followed by ABC’s Sunday drama “Desperate Housewives” with an 8.9 in the advertiser-friendly demo and 21.4 million total viewers.

Fox’s post-“Idol” reality series “Unan1mous” was fourth in adults 18 to 49 with a 7.1. ABC’s Wednesday drama “Lost” was No. 5 in the demo with a 6.6, tying ABC’s Sunday drama “Grey’s Anatomy” and CBS’s Monday night procedural “CSI: Miami.”

In total viewers “CSI: Miami” was fourth with 19.9 million, followed by CBS’s Sunday newsmagazine “60 Minutes” with 17.1 million.

Fox was tops in adults 18 to 49 with a 5.0, followed by CBS (3.8), NBC (3.2), Univision (1.6), UPN (1.3), The WB (1.1) and Telemundo (0.4).

In total viewers CBS was No. 1 with 12 million, followed by Fox (11.9 million), ABC (9.9 million), NBC (9.5 million), Univision (3.9 million), The WB (2.5 million) and Telemundo (920,000).
