One Hearst-Argyle-owned UPN affiliate and three WB affiliates are among the five new long-term affiliations announced Tuesday by The CW. The release said the new deals raise The CW’s coverage to 54 percent of the country, with affiliate commitments in 18 of the top 20 markets and 20 of the top 25.

The Hearst-Argyle station is KCWE-TV, the UPN affiliate in Kansas City, Mo. (market No. 31).

The other new affiliates are cable-only WRWB-TV in Rochester, N.Y. (market 79), owned by WB /Time Warner Cable; Meredith-owned WB affiliate WFLI-TV in Chattanooga, Tenn. (market 86); Vindicator-owned WB affiliate WBCB-TV in Youngstown, Ohio (market 102); and digital station KVIA-DT, owned by News-Press & Gazette-owned ABC affiliate KVIA-TV in El Paso, Texas (market 99).

“As we build The CW’s affiliate lineup station by station and market by market, it’s an exciting opportunity to partner with a variety of companies, all of whom share our enthusiasm and optimism,” said John Maatta, chief operating officer of The CW, a 50-50 partnership between Warner Bros. Entertainment and CBS Corp.
