Bush to Renominate Martin as FCC Chairman

President Bush on Tuesday announced his intention to renominate Federal Communications Commission Chairman Kevin Martin to a five-year term at the agency that would be good through June 30, 2011. Mr. Martin’s existing term expires June 30 of this year.

In a statement, Mr. Martin said he was honored to be renominated. “I look forward to working with the administration, Congress and my fellow commissioners and the talented staff at the FCC to provide all Americans with the services and opportunities offered by the best communications system in the world today,” he said.
