CMT has signed comedian Jeff Foxworthy for a new comedy series, the network announced Tuesday.

“Foxworthy’s Big Night Out” will feature stand-up comedy, sketches and live music performances. The show will be taped in front of a studio audience in Atlanta.

“Coming off two successful years hosting our flagship event, the CMT Music Awards, Jeff has proven that he is a great fit with CMT,” said Paul Villadolid, VP of programming and development for CMT. “Jeff understands and appeals to our audience like no other comic and his kinship with country artists allows us to create a distinct comedy show with a strong country music sensibility.”

CMT has ordered 12 episodes of the series, which is slated for a September debut.
