Anderson Cooper will follow in the footsteps of foreign correspondent Christiane Amanpour by becoming an occasional contributor to CBS News’ “60 Minutes” while keeping his primary job at CNN as anchor of “Anderson Cooper 360.”

The New York Post broke the news Thursday that the deal, long in the works, is effectively done and gives Mr. Cooper the right to show his “60 Minutes” reports on “360.” A “60 Minutes” spokesman declined to comment.

Ms. Amanpour’s relationship with “60 Minutes” lasted for several years.
