DIC Creates In-House Sales Staff for CBS Kids Block

Children’s programming producer DIC Entertainment has created an in-house division to oversee broadcast and new media advertising sales initiatives for the upcoming launch of the new children’s network programming block, “CBS’s Saturday Morning Secret Slumber Party.” The announcement was made Monday by Andy Heyward, chairman and CEO of the company.

Karl Kuechenmeister has been named senior VP of advertising sales and marketing and will be based in New York. Eric Greenwald, who will be based in DIC’s Burbank, Calif., headquarters, has been appointed senior VP of new media sales and marketing. Mr. Kuechenmeister and Mr. Greenwald will report to Mr. Heyward and DIC President Brad Brooks. In addition, David Danowski has been named VP of advertising sales and marketing and will report to Mr. Kuechenmeister.

Mr. Kuechenmeister, a former senior VP at Cartoon Network, has held positions at Viacom, NBC and CBS. He also served as a VP for Time Warner Interactive Group.

Mr. Greenwald previously served as VP of immersive advertising and business development for Neopets. He also spent nearly 20 years in different positions at Paramount Pictures, including executive director of national advertising.

Before coming to DIC Mr. Danowski served as an account executive at Disney-ABC Kids Networks. He also worked for Mediacom and MediaVest Worldwide.
