Former Tribune Broadcasting President Patrick Mullen has been named VP and general manager of Fox’s Chicago duopoly, WFLD-TV and WPWR-TV.

“Patrick has a seasoned career in leading operations in the television industry. We are pleased he will bring his invaluable experience and knowledge to our Chicago stations,” said Fox Television Stations CEO Jack Abernethy, to whom Mr. Mullen will report.

After serving as station executive and a regional VP for Tribune Television, Mr. Mullen was named president of Tribune Television in 2001. When he was named president of Tribune Broadcasting in 2003, his duties expanded to include the company’s 26 TV stations, its entertainment division, Superstation WGN and radio station WGN-AM in Chicago. He left Tribune last fall.
