NBC’s new week-long reality series “Celebrity Cooking Showdown” disappointed in its 9 p.m. (ET) debut Monday, dropping from its lead-in and underperforming the most recent previous time period occupant.

“Cooking” scored a 2.9 preliminary national rating in adults 18 to 49, a number that includes live-plus-same-day viewing, according to Nielsen Media Research. That was down 34 percent from its “Deal or No Deal” lead-in and down 28 percent from regular time period holder “The Apprentice.”

At 10 p.m. on ABC, the time period premiere of the drama “What About Brian” scored a 3.2 in the demo, even with former time period occupant “Miracle Worker’s” average. “Brian” was down 41 percent from its special Sunday night premiere and down 11 percent from its “Supernanny” lead-in.

Fox won the night in the demo with its dramas “Prison Break” (3.5) and real-time thriller “24,” the highest-rated (5.5) show for the night in adults 18 to 49.
