CBS News has named Jennifer Siebens London bureau chief effective April 17. Ms. Siebens, who has been Los Angeles bureau chief since 1986, will succeed John Paxson, who is retiring this week.

“Jennifer is among our strongest managers and producers, and London is CBS News’ most important and busiest international bureau,” CBS News and Sports President Sean McManus said in Tuesday’s announcement.

Ms. Siebens will be responsible for CBS News’ editorial and logistical coverage of Europe, Africa, the Middle East and South Asia.
