The 7th Annual Latin Grammy Awards will be broadcast live Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006, from Madison Square Garden, marking the first time New York will host the awards, an event presented entirely in Spanish.

The announcement was made in New York Tuesday at a press conference by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, The Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences President Gabriel Abaroa, Univision news anchor Barbara Bermudo and NYC Big Events President Maureen Reidy.

Last year the Latin Grammy Awards, which were held in Miami and posted young-adult audience gains, aired for the first time on Univision and for the first time entirely in Spanish.
