ABCNews.com is now making available for free one-to two-minute ad-supported clips from BBC News.

“We continue to see an increasing number of people watching ABC News video online, and we believe expanding this offering, in depth and variety, only helps to propel our growth on the web,” Michael Clemente, executive producer of ABCNews.com, said in the announcement Thursday.

Asked about the potential appeal for short BBC clips, an ABC News spokeswoman said, “We believe people consuming news on the Web are ‘info-snackers.'”

ABC News announced in January that it is the exclusive representative for on-demand broadband and wireless in North America for its longtime news exchange partner.
