TV Executives Lining up as Speakers for Gaming Expo

With gaming now a hot topic in the TV business, TV executives will have a strong presence at the annual E³ gaming expo running Tuesday through Friday at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Executives of Fox Mobile, Comcast Online, Turner’s GameTap and MTV Networks are among those from the ranks of the traditional TV business slated to speak at the expo, officially titled the Electronic Entertainment Exposition.

E³ is billed as the annual get-together for the computer and video games industries, but with cable operators and networks increasingly exploring gaming opportunities in recent years, the attendee logs have been reflecting a widening interest in gaming from the entertainment ranks as well as from advertisers, who are continuing to explore so-called “advergaming” opportunities. More than 450 exhibitors are scheduled to be on the convention floor.

G4 will broadcast live from the convention floor three hours a day during the conference and will offer its affiliates VIP tours. E³ sessions will address topics such as how advertisers can participate in gaming, how gaming is migrating into the on-demand world, the rise of mobile gaming and the role media giants such as News Corp. and Viacom will play in the future.
