Seeking original programming compatible with its top-rated wrestling show “WWE Raw,” USA Network announced plans Tuesday to produce a series of action movies. The new films will be aimed at the same young male demographic that watches wrestling.

“We’re particularly excited about the chance to develop action movies that are compatible with the WWE brand and, when appropriate, will feature roles for the WWE Superstars,” said Jeff Wachtel, USA’s executive VP of original programming. “It gives us a phenomenal opportunity to utilize the Superstars’ talents in a way their fans have never seen before.”

Currently in the works are three projects: “Hunting Rabbits,” about two repo men tapped by a government agency to find classified items; “Crush,” about a bodyguard hired by a wealthy CEO to protect his daughter; and “The Last Tough Guy,” about a Hollywood stunt man out to avenge his mentor’s death.
