VH1 today announced an online gaming site featuring original VH1-branded games, such as “Escape the Paparazzi.” The site will also include classic arcade games such as “Defender,” “Joust” and “Rampage.”

“We have created a gaming site that extends the VH1 brand by playing off of VH1’s distinct programming,” said Tina Imm, VP of digital media at VH1. “Our original games and ‘VH1 Classic Arcade’ give our viewers and the enormous numbers of casual online gamers a great mix of old and new games, editorial content and industry news.”

VH1 also has joined with Big Fish Games to offer more than 100 popular downloadable Web games in a variety of genres-including puzzles, word games, Mahjong games and action games. Players can download one-hour trials of the games or purchase the full versions for $19.99.
