Internet video-on-demand service Akimbo said Monday it has raised an additional $15.5 million in funding, with Cisco Systems, AT&T and Blueprint Ventures coming on board as investors.

The company raised $12 million in funding in 2004 and $4.5 million in 2003.

Akimbo delivers niche and mainstream content from the Internet to the television set through a set-top box, and counts 200 content partners.

AT&T will include Akimbo in its Homezone service, slated to launch this summer. Homezone is a TV/broadband service that combines TV programming from EchoStar with broadband video delivered over DSL.
