EchoStar said today that it is bolstering its existing high-definition lineup by adding HGTV HD, NFL Network HD, National Geographic Channel HD and Starz HDTV. That brings Echostar’s number of HD channels to 29. EchoStar said it’s the first operator to carry HGTV HD.

The satellite operator said it is adding a new interactive gaming service called DishGames as part of its existing slate of ITV fare. DishGames will comprise 16 games, including retro games such as Asteroids and Centipede. The new service is $4.99 per month or $49.99 annually. EchoStar has been among the leaders in offering ITV services, because it’s rolled out ITV-capable boxes to nearly all of its subscribers.
