FCC Postpones Vote to Relax Media Ownership Regulation

A Federal Communications Commission vote on proceedings to consider relaxing media ownership regulations has been postponed from June 15 to June 21, an FCC official said late Wednesday.

The official said the meeting was postponed to give the agency’s newest commissioner-Republican Robert McDowell-additional time to study issues slated for an agency vote.

The postponement will give Mr. McDowell, who was sworn in as a commissioner last Thursday, the same three-week notice that commissioners traditionally receive before an agency meeting.
