The second-season premiere of Fox’s reality cooking series “Hell’s Kitchen” won Monday for Fox in adults 18 to 49 and was on par with its premiere last summer.

“Kitchen” scored a 3.2 preliminary national rating in adults 18 to 49, a number that includes live-plus-same-day viewing, according to Nielsen Media Research. That was good enough to outperform the competition in the demo for every half hour from 8 p.m. (ET) to 10 p.m., but not good enough to take the title of highest-rated program for the night in adults 18 to 49. A repeat of CBS’s “CSI: Miami” at 10 p.m. took that honor with a 3.9.

“Kitchen” also showed growth, starting with a 2.6 at the 8 p.m. half-hour and finishing with a 3.8 at 9:30 p.m.

ABC had a disappointing series premiere with its 10 p.m. reality dating show “How to Get the Guy,” which scored a 1.8 in the demo. That was down 28 percent from its repeat “Supernanny” lead-in, and down 38 percent from the previous four-week average for “What About Brian,” the most recent series time period holder.

On NBC, the telecast of game four of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals scored a 1.5 was the lowest-rated program on Monday among the big four networks, ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC.
