Ion Adds Salhany, Roskin to Board

Former Fox and UPN top executive Lucie Salhany and former Viacom executive William Roskin have joined the board of directors of Ion Media Networks, formerly Paxson Communications.

Ms. Salhany in 1993 was named chairman of Fox Broadcasting, becoming the first woman to head a TV network. The following year she launched UPN, where she spent three years as president. She is now the managing partner of Echo Bridge Entertainment, an independent film distribution company.

Mr. Roskin was a human relations and labor relations officers at Viacom from 1988 to 2005. Also on Mr. Roskin’s resume is a 10-year stint at Warner Communications.

“Lucie brings a proven track record in growing and leading successful broadcast television properties, and Bill offers a wealth of expertise in human resources management and labor relations for large media companies,” Ion CEO Brandon Burgess said in the announcement. “Their industry knowledge and perspectives will be important resources to the board as we continue to advance the company’s operational strategy.”
