Star Jones Reynolds will leave ABC’s “The View” in mid-July.

“I’m not sure what the future holds,” Ms. Jones Reynolds said on the Tuesday broadcast of the show, which is bringing on actress Rosie O’Donnell as a co-host in September.

“Whatever is best for you is what we all want,” said “View” creator and co-host Barbara Walters. “I can’t imagine [the show] being a success without you.”

“Who am I going to fight with?” asked Joy Behar, the comedian whose on-air exchanges with Ms. Jones Reynolds have more than once resulted in tabloid stories.

“Something tells me you will have somebody to fight with,” Ms. Jones Reynolds replied.

“Since you became a skinny bitch it’s not been the same,” Ms. Behar retorted. “We used to be sisters in chubbiness.”

Ms. Jones Reynolds was among the original co-hosts of “The View,” which launched in August 1997.

Rumors and speculation about Ms. Jones Reynolds’ future on the show have swirled since late April, when Ms. Walters announced that Meredith Vieira, who is moving to the “Today” morning show, would be succeeded by Ms. O’Donnell.

Ms. O’Donnell has been a frequent critic of Ms. Jones Reynolds, and many people predicted on-camera tiffs if they shared a set.

On Monday, “Access Hollywood” reported that Ms. Jones Reynolds would leave next month.
