Viral Video: Connie’s Gone

TelevisionWeek is trawling video-sharing Web sites to find the hottest clips spreading on the Internet.

As seen on Break.com

The setup: Maybe The Con should have sung when “Weekends With Maury & Connie” premiered six months ago on MSNBC. But she waited for the short-lived show’s farewell episode in mid-June to warble her off-key parody of “Thanks for the Memory.” In news reports last week she dubbed the event self-mockery, but viral video site IFilm.com still called her performance “creepy.” To see Ms. Chung sashay in a strapless gown, pull up her skirt and cross her high-heeled legs, then throw herself onto the hardwoods at the finale, log on to IFilm, YouTube.com or Break.com, where the news legend lives on.

The source: The clip originated from the MSNBC show and was submitted last week to various viral video sites.

The hits: By late last week it had generated about 270,000 views on Break, more than 164,000 views on IFilm and more than 155,000 views on YouTube.
