CBS is changing up its previously announced Monday schedule for fall, switching time periods for the debuting comedy “The Class” with the second-season sitcom “How I Met Your Mother.”

“Class” will now lead off CBS’s Monday comedy block at 8 p.m. (ET), while “Mother” will return for its second season in its current Monday 8:30 p.m. time period.

CBS is keeping the rest of its fall 2006 Monday night schedule intact. The schedule was announced at the network’s advertiser upfront presentation in May.

Veteran comedy “Two and a Half Men” is scheduled for 9 p.m., followed by the second season of “The New Adventures of Old Christine” at 9:30 p.m. The drama “CSI: Miami” returns at 10 p.m.

David Crane, Jeffrey Klarik and James Burrows are executive producing “Class” for Warner Bros. Television. Carter Bays, Craig Thomas, Greg Malins and Pamela Fryman are executive producing “Mother” for 20th Century Fox Television.
